The completion of The Round, Whitehorse’s new performing arts center embodies the city’s cultural vision—a $78 million testament to artistic evolution and community engagement. Working collaboratively with the architect, glazing works by Heritage Glass were integral to shaping the distinctive aesthetic of the council’s architectural marvel.
Heritage supplied 765 square meters of double-glazed, custom laminated glass within thermally broken aluminum frames, utilising their proprietary Heritage Glass system, completing works in September 2023. A turn-key solution, Heritage delivered project management, design, engineering, material procurement, fabrication, and meticulous installation. Noteworthy achievements include the intricate installation of frameless glass window walls at entrances, circular glazed aluminum frames with louvres and custom steel skylights. Fellow Schiavello subsidiary, Metcon, also supplied the impressive canopy cladding that sits above the entry doors.
Despite the various architectural challenges, Heritage’s craftsmanship prevailed, culminating in a visually stunning and functional contribution valued at approximately $870,000.
